an almost DIY

A few weeks ago I came across a DIY boot warmer/toppers post by Carrie of In the Hammock Vintage Style. I bookmarked it knowing my local St Vincent de Paul thrift store were selling sweaters for $1.00 because the end of season. I didnt find any sweater that caught my attention over there. But I came across these three cashmere and wool sweaters at the Salvation Army. It was ‘a half off day’ that day and ..and (drum roll please) …I got each one for $0.38 (half of $0.75). All in great condition, a little piling yet free of arm stain. I kept them in the freezer for a week, in case there are bedbugs or moth eggs attached.

The cashmere and wool …my oh my ..they feel so soft and luxury to the skin, slightly snug and short on me though. I was debating whether to chop the sleeves off, and turn them into boot warmers or just to wear them as layering under-pieces. I chose the latter.

Thrifted ensemble details:
Enzo Angiolini heels – $3.99
Isaac Mizrahi sheath dress – $6.99
JCrew cashmere sweater – $0.38
Marvella Studio earrings – $1.00, found broken, fixed and replaced with new crystal-drop beads.
